We would like to
announce that "Groove Thing," a
new attraction in the Park at the Mall of America, is our organization's
latest project!
"Groove Thing" is a video entertainment
system that utilizes high tech video equipment. Customers
can select from a wide variety of music videos and our staff
record them with their larger than life heads superimposed
on dancing bodies. The experience is a lot of fun for everyone
and the customers get to take home a hilarious DVD.
 We
developed "Groove Thing" as a
vocational opportunity for our Zenith Services consumers,
in order to provide them with a fun, but practical work experience
in the community. The consumers work along side of their
Vocational Counselors and other "Groove Thing" employees.
Since "Groove Thing" opened in
January, the consumers who have worked there have found the
experience to be very meaningful and enjoyable.
This project was undertaken in partnership with the Mall
of America, who chose to join with us because of our mission
of service to our consumers. They were also impressed with
our organization's recent volunteer work helping the people
of New Orleans through the "River of Hope" project.
"Groove Thing" is located in
the northwest corner of the Park at the Mall of America,
directly across from the roller coaster entrance.
