'Give to the Max Day'

Did you know that Minnesota has an annual day of giving? Give to the Max Day is coming up on November 13th.

Started in 2009, Give to the Max Day is essentially on online charity blitz giving Minnesotans an easy way to donate to their favorite non-profit or school. Give to the Max day has raised over $100 million dollars since its first year. (Last year $17 million dollars was raised in one day!) The website is open year round for donations but Give to the Max Day provides an easy online platform for a single day of consolidated giving.

Giving is really simple and quick! Visit Givemn.org, enter in the name of the non-profit or school of your choice and enter the amount you wish to give. The minimum donation is $10 and you can use a credit or debit card.

There are a few fun twists to the day this year. Givemn.org is providing $250,000 in prize grants, including “golden tickets. “Every hour throughout day they will randomly draw one donation to a nonprofit and one donation to a school and award them each an addiotnal $2000. At the end of the day they will do a Super-Sized Golden Ticket drawing giving an additional $20,000 to one non-profit and one school. This incentive means your donation of $10 could turn into a $2010 or even $20,010 donation!

There is also a competitive edge where the certain organizations or schools that receive the most donations can qualify or additional funding. Certain organizations will have funding matches as well.

Givemn.org is encouraging people to wear green on November 13th to remind others to participate in Give to the Max Day.
